Man Fatally Shot in Midtown Manhattan Subway Station
The New York City Police Department confirmed the shooting occurred Saturday afternoon. No arrests have been made.
A man was shot and killed inside a New York City subway station in Midtown Manhattan on Saturday afternoon, police confirmed to Fox News Digital.
The incident took place at the 53rd Street and 7th Avenue station shortly after noon, according to the NYPD.
A witness, Hassen Pinchback, told Fox News Digital that he heard multiple gunshots and that people began to flee. "It was like a stampede," Pinchback said.
Another witness, who identified herself only by the last name Miller, described hearing approximately five shots. She stated that her daughter alerted a conductor on another train to the situation, who then called 911.
The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
PIX11 reported that the shooting stemmed from an argument between the shooter and the victim.
The NYPD stated that no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
