Man Fatally Shot at London Pub; Police Seek Suspect in Disguise

A murder investigation has been launched after a 35-year-old man was fatally shot at The Sun & Woolpack pub in north London on Tuesday night. Police were called to the scene on Hertford Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting.

Paramedics and an air ambulance responded, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. No arrests have been made, and a crime scene remains in place. The pub announced it would remain closed on Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Police released an image of a suspect captured on CCTV as part of their appeal for information. Investigators noted it is "unclear at this early stage whether this was a man or woman, or if the person is wearing a disguise." The image shows an individual wearing a dark top, black gloves, pink trousers, trainers, and a purple hat, with long, curly ginger hair.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, urged anyone who recognizes the person in the image or was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward. "Even information that may seem insignificant could prove crucial," Bhangoo stated.

Chief Superintendent Anna McCartney reassured local residents that officers are working to identify and apprehend those responsible. "Serious violence has no place in our community, and the Met remains fully committed to tackling gun crime," McCartney said. "We are determined to establish exactly what happened and provide much needed answers for those affected by this tragic incident."

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting CAD 7050/19OCT26, or to call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
