Man Fatally Shot at London Pub Identified; Police Seek Suspect in Ginger Hair
Authorities have released CCTV footage of an individual they wish to speak with in connection with the death of 35-year-old Erdem Mustafa.
Police have identified the man fatally shot at a pub in north London as 35-year-old Erdem Mustafa. Authorities are continuing their search for the suspect.
Metropolitan Police officers responded to The Sun & Woolpack pub in Hertford Road, Enfield, on Monday around 9:30 p.m. alongside emergency medical services. Mr. Mustafa was treated for gunshot wounds but was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is being supported by specialist officers.
Detectives have released a CCTV image of a person they are seeking to identify and interview. The image depicts an individual wearing a dark top, black gloves, pink trousers, trainers, and a purple hat, with long, curly ginger hair.
Authorities are appealing for anyone who recognizes the person in the image, was in the area at the time of the incident, or possesses any relevant footage to come forward.
No arrests have been made, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Mustafa's death are ongoing. Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, stated that while detectives are keeping an open mind, they believe the attack to be targeted. He urged anyone with information, including CCTV, doorbell, dashcam, or mobile phone footage, to contact the police, emphasizing that no detail is too small.
Chief Superintendent Anna McCartney reassured the local community that detectives are working diligently to apprehend those responsible and that additional officers are present in the area for reassurance. She stated that serious violence is not acceptable in the community and that the Met is committed to combating gun crime and holding perpetrators accountable.
