Man Falls to His Death from Six Flags Roller Coaster
Hassan Kariem, 42, identified as the IT specialist who died on the Goliath ride at Six Flags Over Georgia.
Hassan Kariem, a 42-year-old IT specialist and father of two, has been identified as the man who died after falling from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday. The incident occurred at the theme park in Austell, Georgia.
The Goliath rollercoaster reaches top speeds of 70 mph and climbs over 200 feet. Following the tragedy, Six Flags closed the attraction. Witnesses reported that riders were left screaming on the towering rollercoaster after the man fell to his death.
A relative described Kariem's passing as a "terrible shock" to his family. The investigation into the exact circumstances of the fall is ongoing. This incident follows other past incidents at Six Flags parks. In 2022, Christopher Hawley, 22, died after riding the X2 roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Six Flags Magic Mountain in California also announced last month that it was demolishing its X2 rollercoaster after a series of lawsuits alleging severe injuries to riders. Pamela Guillen, 40, suffered severe brain hemorrhages after riding the X2, according to reports.
