A man died after falling from the 'Goliath' roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday, an event that was captured on the attraction's souvenir photos. The unidentified man was riding with his son when he reportedly fell from his seat during the final drop of the 200-foot ride.

Witnesses described the horrifying moment, with one telling WXIA that the man "flew out" of his seat. Official souvenir photos, taken at the point of the incident, now show the man mid-fall. "He’s in our Goliath pictures," the witness stated, referring to the photos typically purchased by riders as mementos. Unverified images shared online suggest the man passed by other riders before plunging to the ground.

Another rider, Fred Sowemimo, told NBC that the man's safety belt appeared to have dislodged. "You can see images of the person out of the seat," he said, referring to the souvenir photos. "You can see him on the girl on her row." Sowemimo's wife, Vanessa, recounted that they initially believed the event was a prank due to its surreal nature.

The incident caused significant distress among passengers. One witness described it as going "from having a great time to just screaming, ‘Oh my God, what is happening.’" The man's body reportedly landed on a haunted house attraction near the roller coaster.

Four other individuals on the ride sustained injuries, though the extent of their conditions has not been released. Following the fatality, the roller coaster was closed, and park officials worked to evacuate the remaining riders. They were brought down in groups using a stairwell located on the side of the ride.

In response to the tragedy, Six Flags temporarily closed nine roller coasters across six of its parks nationwide while investigations are conducted. The 'Goliath' roller coaster is noted as the tallest in Georgia.
