Man Extradited from Poland Charged with Murder in 2023 Case

A 26-year-old man has been extradited from Poland and charged with murder, more than three years after a body was discovered inside a metal cabinet on the NSW Mid North Coast. The man arrived at Sydney International Airport in Mascot on Friday evening, escorted by homicide detectives.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with murder. The investigation began in March 2023, focusing on alleged drug supply in Sydney's south. Officers found connections to a missing person case, leading to the establishment of Strike Force Etruscan to investigate the disappearance of a 22-year-old man from Peakhurst.

On May 12, 2023, police located the 22-year-old man's body hidden inside a large metal cabinet during a search of Warrell Creek at Macksville. Two other men, aged 22 and 33, were previously charged in connection with the alleged murder, and their cases have been resolved by the courts.

Detectives identified the 26-year-old as a third suspect allegedly involved in the killing, who had been living in Poland. On September 18, 2026, detectives traveled to Poland to arrest him. With assistance from Polish authorities and national law enforcement partners, the man was arrested and his extradition to Australia was arranged.

Following his charging in Sydney, the man was refused bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
