A 35-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court in connection with the death of nine-year-old Minnie Merriman, who was discovered injured on an industrial estate in Arbroath on Sunday morning. Police Scotland confirmed the development.
Minnie's family described her as "beloved, absolutely incredible, beautiful and brave" in a statement released through police. They have requested privacy during this "extremely difficult time."
Police stated that they are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident. Specialist officers are providing support to other family members who were camping in the vicinity. Detective Inspector Mike Ness affirmed that a police presence will remain in the area as inquiries continue.
