An inquest heard that Mahammed Islam, 20, entered Glaslyn Lake and got into difficulty while hiking with his brother.

A 20-year-old man drowned after vanishing in a lake during a mountain walk with his brother, an inquest has been told. Mahammed Islam traveled over 200 miles from London to Snowdonia in North Wales on September 27. An inquest hearing in Caernarfon heard that Mr. Islam entered Glaslyn Lake before experiencing difficulty and disappearing from his brother's sight.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and Mr. Islam's body was recovered by search divers the following day. A pathologist has provided a provisional cause of death as drowning. His family described Mr. Islam as a "remarkable young man with a promising future ahead of him," adding that he was a "devoted son, a loving brother, and a cherished friend whose kindness and character touched the lives of all who knew him." They stated that his "untimely passing has left his family, friends, and wider community heartbroken" and that he "will be remembered for the joy he brought to others, the memories he created, and the positive impact he had on those fortunate enough to cross his path."
"Mahammed will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who knew him," his family said. "Our thoughts and sincere condolences remain with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time." They also extended thanks to everyone involved in the search and recovery efforts.
Chief Inspector Steve Pawson commented, "Our thoughts remain with the man's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. The Coroner has been informed and enquiries are now underway. I would like to express my thanks to all emergency responders and mountain rescue volunteers who responded to this incident."
