George Glover died on August 20, three days after being attacked on Narborough Road in Leicester. He was found by a member of the public around 6:30 a.m. on the morning of August 17 and was taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with life-threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hames described the attack as "violent and unprovoked" and appealed to the public for assistance in the investigation. "Narborough Road is a busy route in and out of the city," Hames stated. "Please cast your mind back to Monday morning. Were you there? What did you see? I believe there are people who can help but have not yet come forward. Any information or footage you can provide could assist with our investigation."

He was found by a member of the public on Narborough Road at around 6.30am following the attack

Glover's family described him as a "much-loved son and big brother to his three siblings," who worked hard and enjoyed a simple life, focusing on his job, gaming, and assembling bike parts. They noted his love for Anime, Lego, and Pokémon cards and expressed pride in the young man he had become despite facing physical challenges early in life. "His loss is already felt so deeply," the family said. "He was loving, loyal and had a good sense of humour."
