A man died on Monday after falling from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell. The incident occurred on the 200-foot-tall ride, which reaches speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.

Witnesses reported that the rider struck a roller coaster car multiple times during the fall. The incident caused the roller coaster to stop on an incline, and other riders were evacuated from the cars in groups of four. "He fell and hit the car three different times," a witness told 11Alive.

A spokesperson for Six Flags Over Georgia confirmed the incident and stated, "We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the guest’s family, friends, and loved ones. We are also providing support to the guests and team members affected."

The park confirmed that its team and local authorities responded immediately. "We are cooperating fully with local authorities as they complete their investigation," the spokesperson added. Due to respect for the family's privacy, no further details were immediately released. Local officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
