A 66-year-old man died after being fatally stabbed in what is alleged to be a rental dispute in Beenleigh, Queensland, on Tuesday afternoon. Police were called to a residence on Lubach Street around 4:45 p.m. following reports of an incident.

Witnesses told the Courier Mail that the man, who was returning home from work, discovered he had been locked out by two other occupants. He reportedly kicked the door down to gain entry. Once inside, he was allegedly confronted by a man and a woman, who then attacked him with dinner plates and stabbed him.

Neighbors who heard the commotion ran to assist the victim, described as a well-known figure on the street. One witness recounted hearing a neighbor screaming for help, stating the victim was found "bleeding out" with multiple stab wounds to his lungs and back. The witness added that the other occupants had been repeatedly asked to leave the property but refused.

Responding police officers entered the home and attempted to provide aid, including performing CPR, but the man could not be revived. Queensland Police confirmed that a man and a woman are currently assisting with the investigation. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing, and no further details were available as of Tuesday night. No charges had been laid by Tuesday evening.
