Anthony Williams, 33, has denied attempted murder charges in connection with a stabbing incident on a train that injured several passengers. The incident occurred on November 1, 2023, aboard an LNER service traveling from Doncaster to London King's Cross, shortly after it stopped in Peterborough.
Williams appeared via video link from Rampton Hospital at Cambridge Crown Court and entered pleas of not guilty to 10 counts of attempted murder. He also denied 11 other offenses, which include four additional attempted murder charges stemming from separate attacks in Peterborough and east London that predated the train incident. During the court appearance, Williams, wearing a white T-shirt, stated "not guilty" to each charge while appearing hunched.
The train, operating on the 18:25 service from Doncaster, was diverted and eventually stopped at Huntingdon, where Williams was apprehended. The incident prompted multiple emergency calls from passengers on the train.
