Man Convicted of Raping and Abducting Teenager

Jay Savage, 33, was convicted of abduction and oral rape of a teenage girl, as well as taking an indecent photograph of a child. The conviction follows a six-day trial at Lincoln Crown Court.

According to court testimony, Savage began following the girl home in Boston, Lincolnshire, on March 16, 2025. He approached her around 9:15 p.m. and demanded her phone, claiming he needed to access it. When the girl stated her phone had died, Savage insisted she accompany him to his residence to use a charger.

The victim reported feeling a sharp object against her waist, which she believed to be a knife. Savage then forced her to walk across town with him and gave her a can of beer. At his home, he forcibly engaged in oral sex with her, recording the act on his phone. He then returned her to the town, but kept her phone.

The incident was reported to the police shortly after midnight on March 17, 2025. Savage was arrested at a local property at 1:45 a.m.

Savage has been remanded in custody pending sentencing, which is scheduled for Friday, November 27.

Detective Constable Charlotte Howitt, who led the investigation, praised the victim's resilience and bravery throughout the process. "Her willingness to place her trust in the criminal justice system and her determination to see the case through, despite having to recount details of this traumatic experience on numerous occasions, have been instrumental in securing this outcome," Howitt stated. "She remained resolute throughout, and she should be incredibly proud of the strength she has shown."

Howitt added, "Together, with the victim's bravery and the relentless efforts of the officers involved, we have ensured that a dangerous individual has been held accountable for his actions. I hope this outcome gives the victim some measure of closure and demonstrates our commitment to pursuing offenders and supporting victims every step of the way."
