Nathan Owens, 34, was found guilty of murdering Carla Georgescu, 19, who was a student at university accommodation in Preston, Lancashire. The court heard that Owens drove more than 100 miles during the night to reach Georgescu's residence. He strangled her in the early hours of February 4. The prosecution presented evidence that Owens was sexually obsessed with his stepdaughter and consumed by jealousy, which led to the fatal attack.
