Timothy Houston Harville, 61, has been convicted by a Lawrence County jury of murder for shooting Angela Berryman Hill Harville, 46, in the head with a shotgun in September 2023. The shooting occurred after an argument escalated while searching for a lost cow.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division Lt. Adam Lentz testified that Harville went to the home of his nephew, Scott Harville, and his wife, Angela, to look for the missing animal. Upon arrival, Harville encountered Curtis West, a friend of Angela Harville's teenage son, sitting on the porch with a gun. This led to an argument between Harville and West.

According to reports, Harville's anger intensified, and he threatened to shoot out the tires of the victim's son's vehicle as the teen attempted to leave. Harville then entered the residence, prompting Angela Harville to call her husband. She attempted to de-escalate the situation by sending the men to separate rooms.

During the argument with Timothy Harville, Angela Harville reportedly said, “Go ahead and blow my brains out.” He then fired a shotgun, striking her in the head, and stated, “There you go,” according to courtroom testimony.

Deputies pronounced Angela Harville dead at the scene. At the time of the shooting, Timothy Harville was on bail for previous charges from December 2022, including shooting into an occupied dwelling/vehicle and two counts of reckless endangerment.

In addition to the murder charge, Harville was found guilty of one count each of first-degree unlawful imprisonment, menacing, and first-degree burglary in connection with Angela Harville's death.

Harville's defense attorney, Paula Bassham, stated that her client maintains his innocence and claimed a lack of physical evidence linking him to the murder, asserting that he left the scene before the incident occurred and that Angela Harville was alive at that time.
