Aderahman Boumzough has been found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Rene Graham in Teletubbies Park, an incident that occurred prior to the Notting Hill Carnival. The conviction, which includes charges of attempted murder, was delivered on Friday at Woolwich Crown Court.

The shooting took place in July of last year at Emslie Horniman's Pleasance, a public park in Ladbroke Grove. CCTV footage presented during the trial showed Boumzough, identified as 25 years old, approaching the park wearing a balaclava, drawing a handgun, and firing at Graham in the chest amidst a crowd of families and children.

Following the shooting, Boumzough was recorded attempting to fire at a second individual on a busy street, but the firearm reportedly jammed. He then fled the scene, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Boumzough was arrested and charged more than a year after the murder, on September 2, 2025. Investigators found a video on his phone that appeared to show him rapping about the firearm jamming. In the video, he is heard saying, “Don't you hate it when your ting jams? I was prepared to take soul, but Allah had a different plan.”

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who led the investigation, acknowledged the limited number of initial witnesses but thanked those who provided statements and supported the case, stating they “refused to allow a dangerous individual such as Boumzough to live amongst them.”

Rene Graham's mother, Janay John-Francois, issued a public plea for information a month after her son's death. A year later, Crimestoppers offered a £20,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.

In a statement released by the Metropolitan Police, Ms. John-Francois expressed her profound grief, describing the loss as an unimaginable pain and emptiness that has irrevocably changed her world. She appealed to the public for support, emphasizing the far-reaching impact of such violence.

The shooting is believed to be connected to a rivalry between two local gangs, the Ladbroke Grove Boys (LGB) and the Harrow Road Boys (HRB). Locals have described a long-standing conflict between these groups. The incident occurred at an annual pre-Notting Hill Carnival event.

Boumzough is scheduled for sentencing on July 3.
