Man Charged With Terror Acts Also Accused in Planning Against Farage

Counter-terrorism police have charged Joshua Kerry, 28, with preparing acts of terror, including alleged plans against Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK. The charge stems from an investigation into activities believed to have occurred between May 2024 and July 2026.

Kerry was previously charged in July with the murder of Ann Widdecombe, 78, a former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman, who was found dead in her Devon home on July 9 with serious injuries. The new charge was announced Friday by Counter Terrorism Policing.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans described the charge as the result of a "hugely intensive and complex investigation" led by a dedicated team of detectives, analysts, and forensic experts. Kerry is scheduled to appear in court regarding the terror charge on Wednesday.

Widdecombe served as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Maidstone in Kent for 23 years and held ministerial positions in John Major's government during the 1990s. After leaving Parliament, she participated in the BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing" and later became a spokesperson for Reform UK.
