Man Charged with Shoplifting After Allegedly Stashing Sausages in Trousers
Police dubbed the suspect the 'Sausage Smuggler' after CCTV footage showed him stealing meat from a petrol station.

A man identified as Haydon Lucas, 30, faces charges of shoplifting after allegedly concealing packs of sausages in his trousers and leaving a petrol station shop without paying. Police have referred to him as the 'Sausage Smuggler'.
According to Thames Valley Police, CCTV footage from a BP petrol station on London Road in Newbury, Berkshire, showed Lucas repeatedly stealing meat products. The combined value of the stolen goods across four alleged incidents amounted to £594.75.
Lucas was arrested on October 6 as part of an investigation by the Newbury Neighbourhood Policing team. He has since been released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Slough Magistrates' Court on November 5.
Thames Valley Police commented on the incident via social media, stating that the suspect had concealed sausages down his clothing before leaving without payment, adding that it was a new low for 'handling stolen goods'.
