Man Charged with Murder of Woman in Manchester Street
Lawrence Johnson faces charges for the death of Alisha Samuels and attempted murder of another individual.
A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with the stabbing death of Alisha Samuels, 26, on Dorking Avenue in Manchester. Lawrence Johnson has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
Police were alerted to the incident around 2 a.m. on October 15 after residents reported hearing disturbances, described as "screaming and shouting." Alisha Samuels was found with stab wounds at the scene and was pronounced dead.
Johnson has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Manchester Magistrates' Court. Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant stated that the investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of Samuels' death and to provide answers to her family. He urged anyone with information, however small, to come forward.
Friends have shared tributes to Samuels, remembering her as a "beautiful soul" and a kind, funny person. Aimee Quinn, a friend, expressed her grief and reminisced about their plans for travel. Another friend noted Samuels' ability to make people laugh. A woman who knew Samuels through school described her as having a "smile that would light up every room."
