Man Charged with Murder of Care Worker Found Dead Above Pub
Family pays tribute to Leanne Park, 44, found deceased at The Greyhound pub in Darlington.
A family is mourning the loss of Leanne Park, a 44-year-old care worker who was found dead above a pub. Her family described her as the "best mam, nana, daughter and friend we could wish for."
Park was pronounced dead at The Greyhound pub in Darlington on September 23, at approximately 9:15 p.m. Andrew Bell, 44, has been charged with her murder and is scheduled to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court next Monday.
In a statement, Park's family expressed their devastation, stating, "She was loved by everyone and would do anything for anyone. She was the life and soul of the party and loved to dance. We love her so much and miss her more than words can describe. We are completely devastated. Her death has ripped the heart out of our family."
They also conveyed gratitude for the messages of support received since her death and asked that she be remembered for her "kind-hearted" nature.
Durham Constabulary reported that specialist investigators are examining the crime scene at the pub, located in the town center. A police cordon is expected to remain in place as the investigation continues.
Authorities confirmed that a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but has since been released on bail.
