A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Megan Tangye, 31, who was discovered with unexplained injuries on December 27. The arrest occurred eight months after Tangye was found at a waterfront unit on Gore Street in Port Macquarie, located on the New South Wales mid-north coast. She was transported to a hospital and later died the same day.

Detectives announced the arrest of a 47-year-old man, identified as Tangye's former partner, on Monday. Police apprehended the individual on a boat moored in the Hastings River. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder (DV) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) at Port Macquarie Police Station.

According to Detective Inspector Mark Rogers, the arrest was facilitated by recent final autopsy findings. The investigation into Tangye's death, initially described as mysterious, has progressed following these results.
