Man Charged with Murder in Bondi Beach Stabbing
An elderly woman was found dead at her Bondi Beach unit, and a man known to her has been charged with murder.
A 47-year-old man has been charged with murder following the alleged stabbing death of an elderly woman at a Bondi Beach unit on Saturday evening. New South Wales Police responded to a call at a Chambers Avenue unit in Sydney's eastern suburbs around 5:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman, believed to be in her 90s, with significant injuries. Despite receiving treatment at the scene, she was pronounced dead. The arrested man, who was known to the victim, was taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
Police established a crime scene and initiated an investigation. The 47-year-old man was subsequently charged with murder, with the alleged offense classified as domestic violence. He was denied bail and was scheduled to appear before Bail Court on Sunday.
