Jamie Duncan, 21, faces a murder charge and three counts of possessing a firearm in connection with the death of Israa Djeddou, 19. Djeddou was shot in the face on June 8 in Dale Grove, north London. Paramedics reported hearing gunshots inside the property, and the victim knew the suspect, according to reports.

Duncan was arrested in Spain on August 23, nearly 11 weeks after he allegedly fled the scene. Police had issued warnings not to approach him. He appeared at the Old Bailey via video-link from Wormwood Scrubs prison on September 1 and was remanded into custody. His address was given as Highgrove Close, New Southgate, Barnet.

According to the BBC, prosecution barrister Kelly Brocklehurst told the court that Djeddou had known Duncan for approximately three months and had been in a relationship with him for the last month. The court heard that Djeddou's family reported hearing shouting and a scream around midnight on the night of June 8.

A post-mortem examination indicated that the cause of Djeddou's death was a bullet wound to the face, though the firearm has not been recovered. Police released images of Duncan the day after the shooting in an effort to locate him.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who led the investigation, stated at the time that his team was working around the clock to find Duncan and piece together the incident. Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who leads policing in the area, acknowledged community concerns and reassured residents that police believe the incident to be isolated. He added that an increased police presence would be visible in the area as inquiries continued.

A provisional three-week trial is scheduled for June 7, 2027, at the Old Bailey, with a plea hearing set for November 16.
