Man Charged in Sydney Shooting of 11-Year-Old Boy
An 18-year-old has been charged after an 11-year-old boy sustained critical injuries from a gunshot to the face in Sydney's northwest.
An 18-year-old man has been charged following a shooting incident that critically injured an 11-year-old boy in Sydney's northwest on Monday. Emergency services responded to reports of a shooting at a property on Fairway Drive in Norwest around 5 p.m.
Officers discovered the child with gunshot wounds to his face and neck. He received treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he remains. Five other individuals present at the home during the incident were unharmed.
Three men, all 18 years old, were apprehended at the scene. Two were taken to The Hills Police Station and later released pending further investigation. The third man was taken to Riverstone Police Station, where he was charged with concealing a serious indictable offense. He was denied bail and is scheduled to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday.
