A 21-year-old man, Jamie Duncan, has been charged with murder and three counts of possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting death of Israa Djeddou, 19. The incident occurred in Dale Grove, north London, on June 8, and led to an international manhunt for Duncan.

Paramedics responded to reports of gunshots at a property and found Djeddou, who had reportedly been shot in the face. Investigators believe the victim knew the suspect. Duncan allegedly fled the scene shortly after midnight, prompting police to issue warnings for the public not to approach him.

Duncan was apprehended in Spain on August 23, nearly 11 weeks after the incident. He appeared at the Old Bailey via video-link from Wormwood Scrubs prison on September 1 and was remanded into custody. According to the BBC, a prosecution barrister stated that Djeddou had known Duncan for approximately three months and had entered a relationship with him in the month preceding her death.

The court heard that Djeddou's family reportedly heard shouting and a scream around midnight on the night of the incident. A post-mortem examination determined the cause of death to be a bullet wound to the face, though the firearm has not been recovered.

A provisional three-week trial has been scheduled to begin on June 7, 2027, at the Old Bailey. A plea hearing is set for November 16.

Police had released images of Duncan the day after the teen's death in an effort to locate him. Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who led the investigation, stated at the time that his team was working around the clock to find Duncan and piece together the events. He urged anyone with information, particularly regarding Duncan's whereabouts or relevant footage from the Dale Grove area, to contact the police.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who oversees policing in the area, acknowledged the community's concern but assured residents that efforts were focused on keeping them safe. He indicated that an increased police presence would be noticeable in the area as inquiries continued and encouraged residents with concerns to speak with officers.

Duncan fled the scene shortly after midnight, with police issuing warnings not to approach him, but was arrested nearly seven weeks later in Spain on August 23
