A man carrying a cache of weapons and body armor was arrested Sunday outside the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, days before a scheduled visit by former President Donald Trump.
FBI agents took Jeanine John Taele, 38, of Downey, into custody after observing his suspicious activity. The agents noted that Taele appeared to be monitoring "security-planning activities" at the golf course.
During the arrest, agents discovered an illegally modified AR platform rifle, a .45 caliber pistol, an AR platform upper receiver, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and bulk ammunition for both pistols and rifles. Notebooks found with Taele contained what were described as concerning statements.
Taele's apprehension occurred on Sunday at the golf course located in Rancho Palos Verdes. The former president's visit to the area was scheduled for the upcoming week.
