A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a woman's body in a caravan at a holiday park in Northamptonshire. Police were called to Overstone Lakes in Sywell around 6:20 p.m. on Monday after receiving reports of an assault.

Officers found the body of Susan Lumsden, 62, inside a caravan at the scene. A 72-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Ryan Catling stated that his thoughts are with Ms. Lumsden's family, and specialist officers are providing them with support. He added that the investigation is progressing, and while a suspect is in custody, police are seeking information from anyone who was in the Ecton Lane area of Sywell, particularly the caravan park, in the hours leading up to the incident.

"Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is progressing, and although we have a man in custody, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the Ecton Lane area of Sywell, particularly the caravan park, in the hours leading up to the incident, or who may have information which could assist our investigation," Catling said.

A spokesperson for Overstone Lakes expressed deep sadness regarding the incident and offered condolences to the victim's family and friends. The park confirmed it is cooperating fully with the police investigation.
