Man Arrested in Liverpool After Alleged Restaurant Rape

A 51-year-old man has been arrested in Liverpool following allegations of rape made by an 18-year-old woman. The incident reportedly occurred in a restaurant in the Clubmoor area.
Police were called to Queens Drive late on Saturday evening after members of the public alerted them to a distressed teenage girl who claimed she had been sexually assaulted. The woman stated she had managed to escape the restaurant and sought help from bystanders.
Merseyside Police arrested the suspect, who is from West Derby, shortly before 10:50 p.m. He was taken into custody for questioning and has since been conditionally bailed pending further investigation.
The 18-year-old victim is receiving support from specialist officers.
