Man Arrested in Central Park Woman's Death
A 36-year-old man faces murder charges after a woman in her 60s was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Central Park.
A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman found with multiple stab wounds in New York City's Central Park on Sunday, authorities reported.
Jonathan Robles, 36, was taken into custody and faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the New York Police Department.
Police discovered the unresponsive woman, identified as 63 years old, near a walking trail in the park by East 74th Street and East Drive. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The New York City Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. The woman's identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
Authorities stated there is no known relationship between the suspect and the victim at this time. A 911 caller reported finding the body around 9:43 a.m. ET on Sunday, leading to the police response.
