Man Arrested for Voyeurism After Hiding in Ohio College Locker Room Ceiling

A man has been arrested on 11 counts of voyeurism after allegedly hiding in the ceiling of a women's college locker room in Ohio and taking photos of athletes. Jayson Barker, 39, of Jeffersonville, was discovered Tuesday evening in the Scheve Athletic Center at Wilmington College.

Campus safety personnel apprehended Barker before police arrived at the scene. According to authorities, Barker was a contract custodial employee at the college and climbed into the locker room ceiling. A member of the women's soccer team discovered him when he pushed a ceiling tile.

"He climbed up and was able to push the ceiling tile," Wilmington Police detective Matt Hamilton told WLWT-TV.

Wilmington College released a statement emphasizing student safety and well-being. "The college's paramount concern is the safety and well-being of its students," the statement read. "We have been providing counseling and other support services for the affected students since Tuesday night and are taking measures to ensure that no student's safety or well-being is compromised. Also, the college continues to assist with law enforcement's investigation."

College officials are evaluating the building for enhanced security measures. The arrested individual has been issued a no-trespass order, prohibiting him from appearing on college property under penalty of arrest.

Barker is being held at the Clinton County Jail on a $22,000 cash surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 5. Police have seized Barker's cell phone as part of the investigation, seeking to determine if he had previously accessed the locker room, which could lead to additional charges.
