A man was arrested Monday morning after deploying an incendiary device outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in lower Manhattan, resulting in two minor injuries. The incident occurred at 26 Federal Plaza.

The suspect, who authorities believe has a history of anti-ICE activity, used fireworks and a flammable liquid to create a makeshift device, according to FBI New York field office Assistant Director in Charge James Barnacle Jr. The device caused a small fire, and plumes of black smoke were visible from the scene. A cart containing fireworks and airsoft rifles was found with the suspect, along with a sign reading "ICE Off Our Streets."

Two individuals, a federal employee and a civilian, were injured and subsequently treated and released. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Forces are investigating the incident.

"The individual is in custody and two minor injuries reported thus far. FBI JTTF is investigating the incident," FBI Director Kash Patel stated on X. The New York Police Department also reported finding a firearm linked to the incident.
