A 40-year-old man has been arrested for murder in connection with the death of a grandfather during a violent clash between rival biker gangs. The incident, which involved machetes and other weapons, occurred on August 6 in Pontnewynydd, South Wales.

Tony Jones, 56, was found deceased in an alleyway after a large-scale fight between members of the Hells Angels and Vikings motorcycle clubs. Residents provided first aid to Jones before paramedics arrived and transported him to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Two other individuals were also hospitalized as a result of the conflict.

Police initiated a murder investigation and had sought Anthony Paul Jones, 40, who was believed to be driving a blue Ford Transit van. Authorities confirmed that a van was located, leading to the arrest of the 40-year-old man on suspicion of murder. This arrest brings the total number of individuals detained in connection with the incident to 25, with ages ranging from 18 to 73. Six men remain in police custody, while 19 others have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

The family of Tony Jones described him as a "much-loved husband and devoted dad" and a "much-loved grandfather" affectionately known as 'Grumpy' to his grandchildren. They stated that he was hardworking, dedicated to his family, and cherished spending time with them, recalling memories of family days out and impromptu kitchen discos. The family has requested privacy during their period of mourning.

Evidence found on a Facebook account believed to belong to Mr. Jones included posts referencing Hells Angels and its nickname, '81,' as well as a tattoo on his hand with the initials 'AFFA,' widely understood to mean 'Angels forever, forever angels.'
