A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a home invasion that occurred in the Bronx on May 25, during which he allegedly entered a sleeping 8-year-old girl's bedroom and exposed himself to her.

Tishawn Maile was taken into custody by the NYPD's Neighborhood Safety Team on Friday evening, according to authorities. Police stated that Maile, a stranger to the child, climbed through a window into the girl's bedroom around 5:10 a.m. on the day of the incident.

Prosecutors allege that Maile exposed himself and placed his penis on the girl's foot before fleeing the scene through the same window. The girl and her two siblings, ages 11 and 6, who were also in the room, were not physically harmed during the event.

Maile faces charges including sexually motivated burglary, burglary, sexual abuse, criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of a child, and sexual abuse. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on Sunday and was ordered held on $50,000 bail or $150,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on Thursday.

According to police records, Maile has three prior arrests in the Bronx, including charges for criminal possession of a weapon in July 2023, burglary in 2016, and assault in 2009.
