Man Arrested for Bronx Shooting Amid Love Triangle Dispute

A man identified as Kenneth Morgan has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday. The alleged dispute, described as a love triangle, resulted in two individuals being shot inside a Claremont apartment. Both victims identified Morgan to police, stating, "Kenny shot me," according to court documents.

Morgan, 68, is also facing charges of assault, gun possession, ammunition possession, and harassment. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when Morgan entered an apartment on East 173rd Street and Third Avenue. Law enforcement sources indicated that upon finding the female victim with a 60-year-old male companion, Morgan became enraged and allegedly opened fire. The woman was shot in the stomach, and the man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, Morgan reportedly barricaded himself inside the apartment with the victims, leading to a standoff. He is accused of brandishing the unlicensed firearm at responding NYPD officers. The situation was resolved when the NYPD's Emergency Service Unit took Morgan into custody.

Authorities revealed that Morgan has a significant criminal history, with 25 previous arrests. His most recent prior arrest was in September 2019 for gun possession. His record also includes arrests for burglary, robbery, and theft of service.

Both shooting victims were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital. While listed in stable condition, a criminal complaint detailed that both were "intubated and unconscious."

In a separate incident approximately three days prior to the Bronx love triangle shooting, Morgan is accused of another attempted murder charge. On October 14, around 10 p.m., he was involved in a dispute with a woman in a building on Hughes Avenue. When the woman's son intervened, Morgan allegedly displayed a gun and fired, hitting the son in the right arm.

Morgan was ordered held without bail on Monday in connection with both cases. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
