New York City police arrested Stephen Charles, 42, on Friday in connection with the alleged rape and sexual assault of multiple children over an eight-year period. The alleged crimes began on January 1, 2018, and continued until May 5, 2026, according to the NYPD. Charles is charged with six counts of rape and five counts of predatory sexual assault.
Authorities stated that Charles allegedly preyed on his victims, primarily boys aged 10, 11, 13, and 16, after meeting them at shelters in the Bronx. The assaults reportedly occurred in homes across the Morris Heights, Baychester, and Soundview neighborhoods. In addition to the underage victims, Charles is accused of assaulting a 13-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man. Sources indicated that one of the victims was related to Charles.
