A man has been arrested 35 years after the death of a 92-year-old pensioner, following the launch of a murder investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police. The 67-year-old suspect, from the Llandewi Velfrey area of Pembrokeshire, was arrested on Wednesday, July 22.

Bentley Mathias, 92, originally believed to have died from a brain hemorrhage in Morriston Hospital in 1991, was not considered to have died under suspicious circumstances at the time. However, new information prompted detectives to reopen the case more than three decades later.

The arrested man has been released on bail while the police inquiry continues. Authorities stated they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the death. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Mathias's 1991 death is ongoing.

Llandewi Velfrey, the village where the arrested man resides, has a population of approximately 400 people. Police have been conducting investigations in the area surrounding the village.
