A man was arrested Sunday at President Donald Trump’s golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, after authorities said he appeared to be monitoring security preparations ahead of a fundraiser. The arrest occurred two days before Trump was scheduled to attend a fundraising dinner for the Republican National Committee at the Trump National Golf Course.

Jeanine John Taele, 38, was found with a 16-round magazine containing ammunition in his pocket, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies later recovered a loaded pistol from his car. A search of his home in Downey, California, on Monday revealed numerous firearms, magazines, ammunition, body armor, and notebooks containing "concerning statements."

Taele faces multiple felony charges, including second-degree robbery, possession of a large-capacity magazine, and possession of a short-barreled rifle or shotgun. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. He entered a plea of not guilty to all charges on Monday and was ordered to remain away from the golf course and refrain from possessing weapons. His bail was set at $250,000.

When deputies initially contacted Taele on Sunday, they determined he was under investigation by the El Segundo Police Department for robbery. The sheriff’s department stated there is "no credible threat to our communities."
