Man Arrested After Allegedly Groping Influencer at Disneyland
An influencer livestreaming at Disneyland reported being groped by a man who was subsequently arrested by Anaheim police.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual battery after allegedly groping influencer Yoatzi Castro at Disneyland on September 23. Castro, who boasts over 800,000 followers on Instagram, was at the park celebrating a friend's birthday when the incident occurred.
While posing for a photo in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle with friends during a Twitch livestream, Castro reported that a man in a white t-shirt grabbed her. Video footage from the stream appears to show the man approaching Castro and his hand briefly going out of view as he passes her, followed by Castro reacting and confronting him.
"Bro, no, he just grabbed my a**," Castro could be heard yelling in the video. The man reportedly responded by asking, "What are you talking about?" before walking away with a female companion.
Castro expressed her anger and distress following the alleged assault, stating she did not want to leave the park until the man was apprehended. Disneyland security informed her about an hour later that the man had been located and arrested by Anaheim police.
"Afterwards, I told them that yes, I wanted to press charges," Castro said in a follow-up video. "I just felt so insanely violated. If it weren't streaming, I feel like we would have no evidence. But thankfully because we were streaming, we had the video."
Castro noted that police identified the man by name, and she believes the evidence from the livestream contributed to his arrest. Anaheim police spokesman Eric Anderson confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that the suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of sexual battery, then cited and released that evening. Authorities are not aware of any prior incidents involving the man.
Castro also shared that she is a previous sexual assault victim and felt upset that such an incident occurred again. She emphasized the importance of having evidence, suggesting that without the livestream, the man might have evaded consequences.
She concluded by advising women to remain vigilant, stating, "As women, we always have to keep our guard up, because you never know when men like this are around us."
