A man is accused of stalking an NHS health worker he became obsessed with while she cared for him at St Bernard's Hospital in Southall, west London, a court has been told.

Leon Khan, 40, allegedly sent approximately 50 emails and 17 songs to health care facilitator Sylwia Anczakowska over a 20-month period. He is also said to have offered her a Harrods gift card, which she declined. The two initially interacted on a professional basis while Khan was a patient on the Derby ward.

According to Isleworth Crown Court, Khan sent Ms. Anczakowska a Facebook message asking, "Am I a d***head?" after she did not speak to him when he was moved. She subsequently blocked him and reported the message to her superiors. Ms. Anczakowska was then reassigned to a role that did not involve patient interaction.

Following Khan's discharge from the hospital in September 2025, Ms. Anczakowska reportedly began receiving multiple emails from various user names, including "Freedom 2025," "Leon Lacey," and "Switch 123." She informed the police about the emails, but they continued, with up to six messages a day containing MP3 attachments. The court heard she was also given an ultimatum to meet him in February, which she ignored.

Ms. Anczakowska had since left the hospital to work for a car dealership called Car Planet. Prosecutors allege that after his feelings were not reciprocated, Khan made repeated calls to the Enfield branch of Car Planet on Valentine's Day in an effort to have Ms. Anczakowska fired. He is accused of telling her boss, Asif Hussain, that he would "send guys around" and "a package," and that the dealership would "be no more." These threats reportedly left Mr. Hussain feeling fearful.

Miles Trigg, prosecuting, told the court that Khan also accused Ms. Anczakowska of stealing from him, claimed to have sent packages for her to the dealership, and alleged she was part of a criminal gang. "It is perfectly clear in making these claims and through these many calls he was trying to get her sacked from her job," Mr. Trigg stated.

Khan was arrested on February 17. The Crown's case is that Khan's conduct amounted to stalking, causing Ms. Anczakowska significant alarm and distress. He denies stalking involving serious alarm or distress between June 1, 2024, and February 15, 2026. The trial is ongoing.
