Sadiq Farhad Azad, 33, appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates' Court facing multiple charges, including the alleged rape of a 14-year-old boy. The court heard that Azad is accused of speaking to the teenager on a bus before following him and attacking him in an alleyway off London Road in Portsmouth.
Azad, who is of no fixed abode, also faces charges of stalking a woman in her 20s and criminal damage. The woman reported that a man had been stalking her for a year and had damaged a family member's car. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary investigated the alleged sexual assault after receiving a report on August 11, five days after the incident is said to have occurred between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
During the investigation, officers arrested Azad, who was subsequently charged with rape of a child aged 13 to 15, stalking, and criminal damage to property valued at less than £5,000.
Prosecuting, Graham Heath, stated that the sexual offense and the stalking offense display "particularly dangerous behavior." The judge, Anthony Callaway, ordered that all three matters be sent to the Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for October 5, 2026, at Portsmouth Crown Court.
No bail application was made, and Azad remains in custody.
