A Las Vegas man is accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife and her new husband inside a grocery store on May 12, then leaving custody papers at the scene, according to police testimony.

Alejandro Estrada, 43, allegedly carried out the attack at a Smith's grocery store, where both victims, Amanda Frias Rosa and Victor Frias Rosa, were employed. Police detective Brandon Copley testified that Estrada admitted to shooting both individuals multiple times, then retrieving a red folder of documents and tucking it under Amanda Frias Rosa's arm.

Court records and police reports indicate Estrada owed more than $2,800 in child support payments for the couple's two children, a 12-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl. His roommate, Noel Hernandez, testified that Estrada was angry about the child support, believing it had caused him to lose a mortgage loan for a condo. Hernandez stated Estrada felt this financial strain justified his actions.

Estrada allegedly entered the Smith's store with multiple weapons. The shooting was subdued when bystanders tackled and held down the suspect until police arrived. Amanda and Victor Frias Rosa, who were married in 2025 according to reports, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Estrada faces 13 felony charges, including two counts of murder with use of a deadly weapon, eight counts of discharging a firearm from or within a structure or vehicle, and burglary while possessing a firearm or deadly weapon. A shopper who witnessed the aftermath described Estrada as appearing calm and expressionless while others fled the scene.

Neither of the children were present at the grocery store during the incident. Investigators believe Estrada arranged to commit the shooting in the week or two prior to the event, with testimony suggesting he felt his ex-wife's pursuit of financial support for their children warranted the violent act.
