Man Accused of Decapitating Grandmother and Aunt with Chainsaw Grins in Mugshot

Thomas Steele, 47, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder after police discovered the bodies of his grandmother, Christy Deloach, 65, and his aunt, Dora Boone, 85, decapitated in their Mobile, Alabama, home on Monday. A chilling mugshot shows Steele flashing a toothy grin.

Authorities were called to the residence approximately two and a half hours after Steele’s aunt contacted 911 to report her nephew had begun exhibiting “bizarre things” after reportedly going off his medication. In the call, the aunt described Steele as bipolar and stated, “It’s in his mind. He’s following God.” She also noted that he was calm and not violent, deciding to “let it play itself out,” according to reports.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Steele waiting outside the home, according to FOX 10. He is accused of killing his relatives with a chainsaw. Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood stated at a court hearing on Tuesday that Steele lived at the residence where the killings occurred.
