Man, 68, Killed in Suspected Lamborghini Hit-and-Run in Bronx
Authorities are searching for the driver of a white vehicle, possibly a Lamborghini, that struck and killed Ismael Rodriguez as he crossed the street.
A 68-year-old man was killed Monday morning in a hit-and-run incident in the Bronx, with authorities seeking a driver who may have been operating a Lamborghini. The victim has been identified as Ismael Rodriguez.
The fatal collision occurred just before 6 a.m. near the intersection of Park Avenue and East Tremont Avenue in the Tremont neighborhood. Rodriguez was crossing the street approximately three blocks from his home when he was struck by a motorist who then fled the scene, according to police.
The impact caused Rodriguez to be knocked down, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Police are investigating the incident and are searching for a white vehicle, which sources suggest may have been a Lamborghini, involved in the crash.
This incident follows a series of recent fatal traffic accidents in the city. Last Friday, a 15-year-old Citi Bike rider was struck and killed by an excavation truck on the Lower East Side. The driver of that truck remained at the scene. Earlier this month, a 77-year-old man died after being thrown from his e-scooter in a collision with a cyclist in Downtown Brooklyn.
