Malik Nabers Details Sideline Self-Reduction of Dislocated Shoulder

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers disclosed that he forcibly relocated his dislocated right shoulder on the sideline during Monday night's 28-6 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams. Nabers suffered the injury on the second-to-last play of the first quarter while competing for position with Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie.

The 23-year-old immediately signaled for assistance and went to the sideline, where trainers attended to him. Despite the visible pain, Nabers was able to return to the game on the subsequent series, finishing with one reception for one yard on four targets.

Post-game, Nabers stated, "My shoulder is OK. I'm going to get an X-ray on it, to see what's going on. But I was out there, I tried to just come back out. We had lost Jax so I didn't want to give the team another loss. So I went back in, just tried to see what I could do." He declined to use the injury as an excuse for the team's performance.

In the same game, Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sustained an injury believed to be a sprained MCL after his knee bent awkwardly during a tackle. Dart was hit by Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart while attempting a pass. He was able to walk off the field but moved stiffly and was replaced by Jameis Winston before being carted to the locker room for further evaluation.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Dart's X-rays were negative, and he was scheduled for an MRI. Although Dart is expected to miss time, he has reportedly avoided a season-ending injury. Dart was ruled out at halftime, with Giants general manager Joe Schoen assuring reporters that the quarterback "is going to be okay."
