Majority of Democrats Would Favor Military Coup or Trump's Death Over Current Presidency, Poll Finds
A new survey indicates deep dissatisfaction among Democrats regarding President Trump, with many expressing openness to drastic measures to remove him from office.
A recent poll suggests that a significant majority of Democrats would view a military coup or President Trump's death favorably, highlighting a deep level of discontent. The survey, conducted by the Center for Strategic Politics, found that 59% of Democratic respondents would feel "very positive" or "somewhat positive" if a junta removed Trump from power and took control of the U.S. government.
Additionally, 55% of Democrats polled indicated they would have a similar positive reaction if the president were to die peacefully. The poll results were released in the lead-up to the November midterm elections, a period when Democrats are widely expected to reclaim control of the House of Representatives.
Beyond these more extreme scenarios, the survey also revealed strong support among Democrats for conventional political processes to remove Trump. A substantial 87% of Democrats said they would be happy if Trump were impeached, and 84% expressed similar sentiments if he were removed from office via the 25th Amendment by his cabinet.
