Magnum Accuses Former Ben & Jerry's Chair of Hostile Conduct

Magnum Ice Cream Company has accused Anuradha Mittal, the former chair of Ben & Jerry's board, of breaching her fiduciary duties and engaging in a 'hostile' work environment. Mittal, who stepped down earlier this year in protest of the ownership of Ben & Jerry's, is alleged by Magnum to have 'repeatedly used derogatory language that was hostile, aggressive, disrespectful and acrimonious'.

Magnum has denied wrongfully removing board directors from their roles amidst backlash concerning its ownership of Ben & Jerry's. Mittal's legal counsel has dismissed the claims as 'nothing more than extreme personal slander'.

Magnum has been facing criticism regarding its continued ownership of Ben & Jerry's, including from the ice cream brand's co-founders.
