Some voters who supported former President Donald Trump in the last election have voiced frustration upon learning about his significant income during his presidency, particularly from cryptocurrency ventures. Reports indicate Trump earned nearly $1.2 billion from his crypto businesses in the past year, with $594,263,944 from World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency exchange he established in 2024, and $635,068,835 from CIC Digital LLC, a company that marketed his $TRUMP cryptocurrency. According to PBS News, Trump generated over $2 billion in income in 2025.

This revelation has led to disappointment among some voters. "That’s very frustrating to actually hear that," Olivia Danielle, a Florida voter, told MS NOW. "You know, that’s a lot of money. And that would help out a lot of people around here, a lot of homeless people. You could open shelters. You could really help somebody out with that."

Allen Warfield, another Florida resident, echoed this sentiment. "It’s frustrating that you see your president getting richer and richer, and the middle class is getting poorer, and that’s about it," Warfield stated. "Somebody’s making money on the side. It’s not me. That’s all I got to say."

Kevin Chavez, another resident, expressed disillusionment with Trump's performance. "I don’t think it was the Donald Trump that we saw in 2016, and I don’t think that he can make up for it in what’s left of his current term," he said, suggesting the former president had not delivered on promises as quickly as anticipated.

These voter sentiments emerge as Trump's approval ratings have reportedly declined on key issues, including the economy. CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten noted Trump's historically high disapproval rating regarding gas prices. A recent New York Times survey indicated 38% approval versus 58% disapproval, with a Fox News poll showing 31% approval for his handling of the economy compared to 68% disapproval.

Rep. Gabe Amo (D-R.I.) shared the voters' perspective, characterizing the Trump administration's legacy as "Broken Promises." Amo commented, "Donald Trump said he’d support and lift up the forgotten person. In fact, he’s not forgetting to focus on his money. That’s his priority."
