Madonna Spotted with Boyfriend After VMAs Performance and Family Intervention

Madonna was seen in Beverly Hills on Monday with her boyfriend Akeem Morris, marking her first public appearance since her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. The 68-year-old artist, who received seven awards at the ceremony, opened the broadcast with a medley of songs from her new album "Confessions II." Her performance, which included guest appearances by Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX, drew fan concern over her labored dance moves, and it was noted that her left knee was strapped up.

During the awards show, Madonna's acceptance speeches also generated discussion. In one instance, while accepting an award for "Confessions II (The Film)" alongside presenters Charli XCX and Troye Sivan, she appeared to fumble a joke about a prop laser and forgot which of her videos was being honored, prompting Charli to show her the announcement card. This followed her opening performance where social media users commented on her appearing out of breath and a scene where backup dancers moved her onto a platform.

In the wake of the VMAs, the Daily Mail reported that Madonna's family staged an intervention following her performance. The following night, the singer was observed with Morris, her boyfriend of over two years, as they left the restaurant Funke.

Morris, a former professional soccer player, towered over Madonna as they exited the eatery. He held the car door open for her and placed an arm around her. Madonna wore a head-to-toe black outfit, including a long leather coat with fur trim. While Morris appeared in good spirits, Madonna's expression was described as more tired and careworn.

This appearance comes three years after Madonna postponed the North American leg of her Celebration Tour due to a serious health scare. At that time, she was hospitalized and placed in intensive care for several days after contracting a bacterial infection. Her manager announced she had sepsis, which led to her being unconscious for four days, requiring a ventilator and spending 48 hours in an induced coma. Madonna later described the experience as a "near-death" encounter.
