Madonna has reportedly expressed interest in purchasing Angelina Jolie's Los Angeles mansion, a sprawling estate listed for $29.85 million. The music superstar, who recently celebrated her birthday in Greece, was shown the property through a video tour, according to sources. Jolie first listed the Los Feliz estate in May.
The property, located at 2000 De Mille Drive, is situated in the exclusive Laughlin Park neighborhood in the upper Hollywood Hills. It has a history rooted in Hollywood's golden age, having been owned by filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille and his family for over 50 years. DeMille, a pioneer of American cinema and co-founder of Paramount Pictures, owned the home from 1916 until the late 1980s. The estate includes a Beaux Arts mansion built in 1913, a pool, guest house, tea house, and garage, all set on 2.1 acres with views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Observatory.
Jolie purchased the estate in June 2017 for $24.5 million. She had previously stated an intention to leave Los Angeles once her children were adults; her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, recently turned 18. It is not yet clear if Jolie plans to purchase another property.
Madonna, who sold her own Los Angeles home in recent years, appears to be considering a return to the city. She previously sold her Hidden Hills estate for $23 million in 2021. Her current properties include a multi-level townhouse in Manhattan, a Georgian townhouse in London, a horse farm in Bridgehampton, and a property in Portugal.
The Los Feliz neighborhood is known for its exclusivity and privacy, attracting a number of celebrities. Laughlin Park is an enclave of approximately 60 homes, with past and present residents including Natalie Portman, Kristen Stewart, Brie Larson, and Kristen Bell.
Brokers for the property and representatives for both Madonna and Jolie did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
