Madeleine Dunbar, daughter of Line of Duty actor Adrian Dunbar, has marked one year of sobriety following a period of substance abuse and struggles with ADHD. The 37-year-old singer, who performs as MINX, announced the milestone on social media.

"One year no alcohol or mind-altering substances," she stated. Last year, Dunbar released a single titled "Dopamine," which drew inspiration from her experiences with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and addiction. She described ADHD as an "exhausting and euphoric in equal measure" condition that coincided with harmful addictions. The song explores themes of drug addiction, ADHD, sex addiction, and the patriarchy, aiming for a "full-fat vibe" with music intended for dancing.

Dunbar has previously spoken about a complicated relationship with alcohol, finding solace in sobriety groups after years of self-destructive behavior. In a social media post this year, she expressed gratitude for a community of sober women who inspire her, stating, "Better to fall off the treadmill than fall off the wagon."

Her father, Adrian Dunbar, has also spoken about his own past struggles with alcohol, having quit drinking on his 40th birthday and maintained sobriety for nearly two decades before resuming in 2019. Madeleine Dunbar is now focusing on her recovery and creativity, aiming to use her music to highlight the realities of living with ADHD, particularly for women.

"So many of us suffer from addiction in one form or another or battle with neurological disorders like ADHD and autism," she said. "I'm just glad we live in such a connected world where we can share our stories, experiences, hope and coping mechanisms."

Dunbar's mother is Australian actress and casting director Anna Nygh. Her father, Adrian Dunbar, is known for his role in "Line of Duty." Madeleine Dunbar has a child, who is now five years old. She previously had a public engagement to builder Callum Lazenby-Todd, which ended last year.
